We are trial testing the management of the grassland area in the southwest corner of the Black Mountain Nature Reserve, and thank you very much to the wonderful weeders who helped with the Burgan and weed removal in order to maintain the forb diversity in the designated area.

Also, a big thank you to the newer Friday Weeders who removed several mature and very large woody weeds at the end of September.

The next weeding work party is planned for Saturday, 2 November 2019, 8.30am to 11.30 - note the earlier summer times.

We shall focus on the small remaining area of woodland in the southwest corner of the Black Mountain Nature Reserve.

Meet

At the Caswell Drive eastern car park on mountain side. Limited parking. Drive from Belconnen Way southwards along Caswell Drive towards Glenloch Interchange. Note the yellow diamond shape advisory sign showing access road on left, and the blue and white “P” sign for parking. Pull into the carpark carefully. Look for banners.
